Swami Nishchalanand Saraswati further says that – ‘Muhurat should be kept in mind for the prestige of life. Who should touch the idol and who should not, who should pay respects and who should not. Even in Skanda Purana, the idols of Gods and Goddesses have been called Arsa Vigraha in Srimad Bhagwat. The glory of the deity is consecrated in the idols only when the consecration is done as per rituals.
In the absence of proper consecration, ghosts and vampires are enshrined in the idol instead of the deity.
Shankaracharya said that if the idol is properly consecrated and after that, if the rituals like aarti and puja are not followed, then the glory of the deity is lost. In such an idol, Dakani, Shakani, ghosts, vampires etc. get established in the idol. Worshiping such an idol leads to inauspicious results. Therefore, one should not play with the life and prestige of the idol in any way.
What is classical genre?
According to Swami Avimukteshwaranand, the Ram temple built in Ayodhya is not yet completely ready. The scriptures do not permit consecration of life in an incomplete temple.
